Several members gathered for the second quarter meeting of 100 Women Who Care Clay County 2016.
The three randomly selected members to present were Richlyn Coughanowr, Peggy Eppert and Paulette Gaskill advocating for the Community Theatre of Clay County, Head Start and the St. Vincent Clay Hospital Backpack program, respectively. All three gave persuasive presentations, explaining the great need each agency had. As a result, it was a close vote with Head Start having just a few more votes than the other two.
As this quarter’s selected organization, Head Start will be the recipient of a $100 contribution from all 105 members of 100 Women Who Care, resulting in a $10,500 donation. The funding will be used to purchase shade structures for its playground. These structures will allow the youth in Head Start to play outdoors for a longer period of time with protection from the sun.
