2016-03-09 03.18.36

100 Women Who Care Clay County had a great turn out for their first 2016 meeting! Ten new women joined as members and a great time was had by all.

During the meeting, members were able to nominate, advocate and vote on a nonprofit organization to collectively support. Presentations were given on behalf of the Emergency Food Pantry, the Northview High School Backpack program and the Clay County Parks Association. After the votes were counted, the Northview High School Backpack program was announced as the first 2016 grant recipient!

The Backpack program provides food to students at Northview High School who are food insufficient. Thanks to the help of the Clay County YMCA and the Retired Teachers Association, the program is able to send home food with each identified student in need every Friday so the students have food for the weekend. The contributions from 100 Women Who Care Clay County will not only ensure that every student in need is given food but that there is enough funding to keep providing food for the remainder of the school year.

Members – If you were unable to attend the meeting, pleas send your $100 contribution payable to Northview High School – Backpack program to: 2901 Ohio Blvd. Suite 153, Terre Haute, IN 47803.

Online payments can be made by clicking herePlease note there is a $2.56 processing fee for everyone $100 online payment.
