About | 100+ Women Who Care in Clay County//
Welcome to the blog for a new organization in Clay County. 100+ Women Who Care in Clay County, is a group of women who share a common desire to give back to our local community. The group is open to all women — the more women who get involved, the greater our impact will be!
The group meets four times a year for a one-hour meeting. Members join the organization annually and sign a commitment to donate $500 per year. The first $100 commitment supports an endowment fund for the 100+ Women Who Care organization to use to address future needs of the community. In addition, every member pledges to donate $100 at each of the four meetings (whether they attend or not) to be given to a selected Clay County non-profit organization. To be eligible for consideration, the organization must be a 501(c)(3) non-profit or a government entity. Non-profits affiliated with religious organizations are also eligible as long as their services address a societal need and are not restricted based upon religious affiliation. Only local organizations are eligible. Controversial and political non-profits will not be considered.
Here’s how it works: Each member can put their name and the name of an organization they would like to have considered in a drawing at each meeting. At the meeting, three members’ submissions will be chosen, and will each be given five minutes to provide an explanation of the organization and its services. Three minutes will also be provided for questions if needed. At the end of the presentations, the attendees vote, ballots are counted, and a winner is announced. The women then make out their checks, process an electronic payment or pay $100 in cash to the selected charity. When our membership grows to 100 members, we will be giving away $10,000 at each meeting!
For a total of $500 a year, female philanthropists can have a huge impact in our community. Think about what a difference a $10,000 donation could make to a Clay County non-profit organization! Think also about the impact of $40,000 or more in donations during one year’s time. At the same time, 100+ Women Who Care will be building an endowment account that will provide permanent funding to benefit our community in the future!
